The family relocated to Buenos Aires to Victoria, London as Taylor-Joy reached the age of six. Taylor Joy says that moving was a very difficult experience. She refused to learn English and believed she would be able to return to Argentina. The school she attended had to be changed from Northlands and then Hill House. Then, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in productions of the school. When she was 16, she left school in order to concentrate on acting full time. Taylor-Joy grew up as an actor and was sure she would eventually become one. The realization of her dreams came when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a job as a model.
